4. Why should I pre-register online?
Registering online offers many benefits including:

  • The best selection of classes and activities.  Many classes and crops sell out before the convention even starts. Pre-registration helps maximize your time at the convention and get the classes you want when you want them.
  • The chance to take advantage of online specials such as the CKC Show Special (see #6 below).
  • Email updates & promotions leading up to the CKC event - with updates on classes, show specials and other helpful information. (Note: These e-mail updates are sent to the e-mail address you used to register.)
  • Welcome envelope with tickets and wristbands for shopping ready for you when you arrive.
  • Exclusive Pre-Registration Gift for each individual registration. (Note: Only the person whose name is on the registration qualifies to receive the Pre-Registration gift. If you are registering for a friend, you must create a unique registration for them in order for them to qualify for a Pre-Registration gift.  Multiple attendees on the same registration only qualify for ONE gift, not one gift each.)

8. What is the cancellation policy?
Tickets to CKC are sold on the same basis as those for cultural performances, concerts, football games and other one-time events. According to our cancellation policy guidelines, once your registration is confirmed and your credit card is charged, there are no refunds or exchanges. Please carefully check your calendar before registering for CKC. You may send someone in your place if you are unable to attend the event.

If you have any questions about your registration, e-mail us at ckc@ckscrapbookevents.com or call 801-403-6761  Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST and one of our customer service specialists will be happy to assist you.

Tickets will not be released to anyone other than named ticket holder unless written authorization is provided.

**Due to the COVID-19 virus changing the way we do business currently, if the event has a date change, online registration will close and all orders will be refunded in full back to the credit card used at the time of purchase.**

Please note: If you signed up for the "CKC Show Special" with your initial registration, you are required to maintain a schedule of at least three classes or activities to be eligible for CKC Show Special benefits.

9. When will you post class and activity descriptions?
Watch for classes and activities to be updated to the web site starting a week or two before online registration opens. We work hard to finalize all information before we post it to the web site. However, as we work with sponsors and teachers to confirm and finalize classes and activities, details often change before we open registration. There are times when we may need to make adjustments to class and activity descriptions and prices.

We apologize for any confusion or concern this may cause. Please also note it's possible we may add classes to the schedule after registration has opened. But, if any class or activity details change, we'll update those details online and notify registered attendees by e-mail.

10. Can my friends and I take the same classes?
Absolutely! The best way to make sure you and your friends can attend the same class is if both parties register online (early in the registration period is best) at the same time for the same classes (based on availability).

11. The class and/or crop I want to attend is sold out. Will you open any more seats?
We maximize our space to allow as many people as possible to attend classes and crops. After considering a combination of factors, such as how many people the room can hold and how many people a manufacturer is able to teach at one time, we set maximum class seat numbers and post that availability online. Manufacturers use these numbers to prepare class kits, and the facility uses these numbers to set each room with appropriate tables and chairs. Unfortunately, we are not able to increase the number of seats in any full classes or crops. However, should an attendee drop the class or activity you want to add, it will appear available online. We encourage you to visit the Classroom page often to monitor class availability at your convenience. Once online registration has closed, any classes with remaining available seats will be sold on-site at the event.

12. Can I still purchase class tickets at the show even if I don't register online?
Yes, but on-site ticket sales are based solely on availability after pre-registered attendees have registered. Some classes and crops may still have tickets remaining, but for the best selection we recommend you register online before the event. Note: Class and activity tickets purchased on-site are $2 more than those purchased online to cover handling fees.

13. What should I do if I did not receive a confirmation email?
If you do not receive a confirmation message, please check your SPAM/Junk Mail folder to make sure you continue to receive emails from us. To avoid delivery of confirmation emails and event-related broadcasts to your SPAM/Junk Mail folder, please place the following email address in your address book: ckc@ckscrapbookevents.com. (This is particularly helpful if you are using a subscription email service provider such as AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo!, EarthLink, Google, etc.)

14. What should I bring for classes?
Getting to class without your basics can be a drag.  Pack your bags and make sure you bring the following basic supplies so you can complete your class projects on-site:

  • Favorite pair of straight-edge, micro-tip scissors
  • Personal 12" x 12" paper trimmer
  • Favorite adhesives, both wet and dry (tape runner & glue dots)
  • Black archival journaling pen
  • Paper piercer and mat
  • Black and brown ink
  • Corner rounder
  • Acrylic block
  • Pop dots or foam squares

We highly recommend you check each of your class descriptions to see if the teacher requests you bring additional supplies or tools to class.  Additional, optional supplies include a camera to snap shots of finished projects, paper and pen to take notes, and the tools you can't live without, such as eyelet setting tools.

Be sure to mark your supplies clearly with your name. You'd be surprised how many scrappers have the same tools as you!

What should I bring for crops?
Designating a 3-4 hour project(s) you know you want to work on while you're at a crop can cut down on the supplies you unnecessarily haul to a crop.  Be strategic about the layouts, mini book, or cards you want to create and plan accordingly.  You'll find you'll get a lot more done and leave a little more satisfied.
Also, space is limited at the crops. You may bring your rolling tote to the crop. However, handcarts and wagons are not permitted. So you can see that consolidation and planning is really key to making sure the crop is enjoyable for all.

Be sure to mark your supplies clearly with your name. You'd be surprised how many scrappers have the same tools as you!

15. Can children participate at the event?
Children of all ages are welcome to join you as you shop at the Vendor Faire; however, please note that strollers are not permitted on the Vendor Faire floor (except umbrella style strollers – click here to see images of acceptable strollers). Children 10 years of age and older are charged admission.

To attend a class or crop, children must be 10 years of age or older and must purchase a ticket. Non-mobile infants (not crawling or walking) can join you in the classroom and at crops. However, strollers are not permitted, so the infant must sit in your lap. Please be respectful of the teacher and fellow students and remove a fussy baby immediately.

16. Can I bring a stroller or my rolling tote?
All rolling totes and strollers (except umbrella style strollers) are not allowed on the Vendor Faire floor.  You can bring your rolling tote to the crops. However, handcarts and wagons are not permitted. Rolling totes are allowed in classes but not encouraged due to the tight space between tables and chairs.

Why? Floor space at the Vendor Faire and room in classrooms is limited, and these wheeled items have caused injuries in the past and may pose liability concerns.

To accommodate your totes and strollers, we bring in a local group to provide a Tote & Stroller Check where you can store rolling totes and strollers. There will be a small donation fee to the group for checking a tote. If you're just storing a stroller without personal items, there's no charge. If you're using your stroller to store personal items or are returning to get items in and out of your stroller, your stroller will be classified as a tote and there will be a charge. We appreciate your understanding in regards to this policy.

17. How can I help at the event?
We are always in need of volunteers to help at the event. We have a variety of shifts available such as teacher's assistant, crop helper, door greeter, registration assistant and more. If you have a four-hour block of time, and the ability to stand for long time periods, check out the Volunteer page for the event you are attending. (Some exceptions may apply).

This is a very well compensated position.  It's more like a shift of seasonal, fun-filled employment in exchange for being a teacher's assistant, crop helper, door greeter, registration assistant, etc.  As a CKC Volunteer, you will receive the following compensation:

  • One (1) Vendor Faire pass ($10 value)
  • $20 Gift Card
  • A free gift exclusive to our CKC volunteers

Note: This compensation can be picked up during designated check in/out times, will not be redeemable for cash, and expires at end of the show.

The majority of the positions will be for teacher assistants where you'll take tickets at the door, distribute class kits and materials and help the teacher clean up when the class is over. As a teacher's assistant you will not be receiving a class kit nor pick the classes you'd like to assist. You'll most likely be assigned to one room for your entire shift.

If you would like to sign up to help as a volunteer, go to the Volunteer page and click on the Volunteer Registration button to complete the registration process. During registration, you'll select the times you want to volunteer, which is a commitment to fulfill the assignment. You'll receive a confirmation number, which will allow you to make changes if you need to. All changes must be made at least one week prior to the event

Volunteer positions are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We reserve the right to approve all volunteers. If you have questions, please email them to ckc@ckscrapbookevents.com. Please do not request volunteer assignments through this email - use the Volunteer Registration to see available volunteer opportunities.

18. How can my women's charity or group get involved at the show?
For each show, we are seeking an organization to run the Tote & Stroller Check in exchange for the money earned at the check. Your group must be able to provide three volunteers for the hours that the Vendor Faire is open: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday. If you are interested in this opportunity, please email ckc@ckscrapbookevents.com and tell us a little about your organization. Be sure to include a contact name, phone number and e-mail address.

19. Will you accommodate my special needs at the event?
Yes. We want to make sure that every student has a great time at the convention. If you have special needs, please notify us ahead of time, within one week of the event, so we help make your experience as enjoyable as possible. Please e-mail us at ckc@ckscrapbookevents.com and let us know how we can assist you. Each convention-host facility is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the facility will do everything possible to accommodate your needs. While we will not provide a foreign language or ASL interpreter, we will arrange for your interpreter to accompany you throughout the event at no additional class or admission cost.

20. I registered online but now I can't attend. Can I have a friend pick up my registration?
Yes, but we will need written and signed confirmation that you've given your friend permission to do so. Simply compose a letter that explains your situation and releases authorization to your friend to pick up your tickets. Be sure to name your friend and sign the letter! Your friend just needs to bring this letter and surrender it at the event in order to pick up registration materials.

21. Are vendors looking for help?
There are often vendors looking for help at the show. Work could include helping with booth set-up, assisting with demonstrations or make-n-takes, restocking, running the cash register, tearing down at the end of the show, etc. Each vendor's request is different. Vendors usually require help for all three days and pay with cash or product for your help and time; again each vendor will vary.

As soon as we are notified of vendors looking for help at the show, we will post the vendor name, contact person and a phone number and/or email address on the convention's web site under Help Wanted. Check back, especially as the show dates approach!

If you are interested, please contact the vendor directly. They'll let you know what day and time they are looking for help, what the job would entail and what the compensation would be. CKC does not coordinate this additional help at the show, so please direct all e-mails and questions directly to the vendor.
